CUP DOUBLE FOR LIVERPOOL

Liverpool put the disappointment of missing out on the league well and truly behind them by winning both the league and fa cups. First they beat Everton 2-1 in a repeat of the 1984 milk cup final. 24 hours later they played league champions Chelsea in another tight affair. The final score after 90 mins was 2-2. But Liverpool scored from all angles in extra time to win the fa cup 5-2. The league will resume in October. Two divisions of 6 teams which will include Celtic, rangers, ac Milan, real Madrid.

Due to the pretty poor 'summer' weather we're having here, the league might resume earlier than planned. I'm toying with the idea of a 6 team premiership, 4 team league of Ireland, 4 team Scots, 4 team Italian, 4 team spanish and a 4 team German leagues?

Man City.............14 5 5 4 17 13 20 +4
Newcastle...........14 5 4 5 20 20 19 =

Arsenal..............14 3 5 6 14 19 14 -5
Everton..............14 3 4 7 12 23 13 -11

Nice mate. I like the idea of a smaller league - more manageable :)

I've never done any league with more than 8 teams. I think 12 might be my limit whenever you add in two cup comps. The days are now short, cold and wet so its a perfect time to kick off the new season.

Short cold and wet days... Sounds like now, so much for flamming June and now shivering July!!!! Mind you it was nice on Friday at the cricket, or did I dream that!

Correct Jenksy. July is a wash out here. The solo is tempting again once someone mentions it.

Well done to you, DS, and Mr.J. for restarting the solo scene and providing something interesting and up-to-date to read about.

I'm planning to start my new solo season, it will be 04, in a few weeks. I must try and improve my weak computing skills and post information in a presentable way.

Meanwhile, keep up the good work yourself, and may the best team win, although they weren't at the top of your last league table! (No personal giveaways at this stage, though!)

SEASON 2016/17

I've eventually got some time to get the League started. Yes the league that was supposed to start last Nov 2015! So instead of having two 8 team divisions I'm going to play a 16 team premiership. Each team to play each other once,=15 games each.
There will be an FA Cup and the top 2 teams after 10 games in the premiership will enter into this season's Champions League. The scots prem which started last Nov will continue from where it left off. The top 2 teams here after 6 games will enter the Champions league also. So a reminder of the premiership teams:
Liverpool, Arsenal,Chelsea,Spurs,Man U, Man C,Southampton,Burnley,A Villa,Everton,Newcastle,WBA,Leeds,Notts F, Sunderland,Stoke. These are played on a mixture of bases. New subbuteo, Hasbro, S'footy.

Draw has been made for the FA Cup:
A Villa v WBA, L'pool v Chelsea, Spurs v Man U, S'land v Man C, Newcastle v Leeds, Arsenal v S'oton, Stoke v Burnley, Everton v Notts F.

This is where the Scots prem left off: This league is played with LWs.
Dundee 0-1 Celtic
Rangers 0-0 A'deen
A'deen 0-1 Dundee
Celtic 0-0 Rangers
A'deen 1-0 Celtic
Rangers 0-0 dundee

All very close after the first set of fixtures. Each team to play each other 4 times = 12 games each.
-------------P..W..D..L..F..A....PTS
A'deen....3..1..1..1..1..1....4
Celtic.....3..1..1..1..1..1....4
Dundee...3..1..1..1..1..1....4
Rangers..3...0..3..0..0..0...3

Scottish Cup draw:
Rangers v Dundee
Celtic v A'deen

Scot's Prem 27/9/16
Celtic 1-0 Dundee. A winner in the dying seconds for the Bhoys. They now lead A'deen by 2 pts at the top of the table.

Rangers 0-0 A'deen. After 4 games, Rangers have still to score.

The Big flick-off.

Well done on getting the D S Premiership up and running again; two great reads so far. Good luck towards reaching its conclusion this time.

I like the compact Scottish League table, hope you won't mind if I use the same technique, on the grounds that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Good to see that many of your matches appear to have tense finishes, and that at least one other league gets as few goals as we manage over here!

Looking forward to the next instalment.

Thanks Blackpool. Will have no problem keeping it going this time. Girl's at school and the youngest at the creche = more time for subbuteo! I really enjoyed the other solo leagues I've done since returning to this great game. It's amazing how easy fixtures and tables are done using computer software. Pen and paper back in the 80s. It might be Thursday before I get the next 4 EPL fixtures played.
