First trophy solo season 2016/7

Postby Gullseye » 26 Feb 2017, 15:08

League Cup Final

Queens Park Rangers v Tottenham Hotspur

Steve Archibald gave Spurs 1-0 lead on 22 minutes and looked to hold on until half time, but on a swift break away Gillard surging forward powered a shot home which flew in off Perryman.

Spurs again took the lead after less than a minute of the second period with a goal from Villa. That was the end of Rangers resistance as Villa ran riot with a second goal within minutes. Perryman added fourth in the dying minted for Tottenham to take the trophy.

Well done to Spurs; they have always been a better side in Cup competitions.

Not sure why the photos up the wrong way up. Sometimes seems to happen when you post from an iphone.

How big is your league Gullseye? I'm thinking of doing a full Premier League season once the new fixtures are out in June. How long is a season taking you?

A few years ago I replicated a whole season of the old First Division for 1982/3 and it took 2 years to complete.

I enjoyed playing it but would not attempt again as its a long haul. Since then I constructed four divisions of 12 teams in each and have relegation of two up and two down, apart from Division 4 where the bottom team is replaced by a non league team (the one that goes furthest in the FA Cup). Only three games are actually played in the First Division each week and one in the 2nd 3rd and 4th the rest of the games are decided by a system.

The League Cup is also system played apart from the final and every game in the FA Cup is actually played. The whole thing lasts as long as a real season.

I'm tempted to do a full Premier League season but don't have all the teams for next season on the new zeugo profibases. Releases seem really few and far between. Probably only got about half of the league so far.
