CITY GO TOP AS BOTTOM CLOSES UP WITH FOUR OF BOTTOM FIVE ALL WINNING

Manchester City opened up a three-point gap on their local rivals Manchester United after beating bottom club Watford.

City recorded a comfortable victory whilst United were beaten 1-0 at Everton, who move in to the top half. Liverpool went third with a thrilling victory at Burnley.

Spurs were well beaten at Swansea who stay 17th, that's due to Stoke winning their third consecutive game 1-0, this time against Newcastle. Huddersfield also won at Leicester by the same scoreline, and Brighton were also winners 1-0 thanks to a controversial Murray goal against local rivals Bournemouth - March was marginally offside in the build up but play was allowed to continue.

Crystal Palace are now just three point above the drop zone after a goalless draw at Southampton, they too are not totally safe, nor are Leicester.

The story of GW22 should be at the London Stadium, though, as West Ham raced in to a 3-0 lead before West Brom came back to draw 3-3 in one of the matches of the season, and definitely the comeback of the season so far.

Chelsea beat Arsenal to go above their London rivals in to 5th, just a point behind Spurs who now occupy 4th.

SCINTILLATING SANCHEZ DOWNS BOURNEMOUTH; MAN UTD BACK ON TOP, WATFORD STARING AT THE DROP

Sanchez scored four goals in a scintillating show as Arsenal hammered Bournemouth 5-1 to boost their hopes of a top four finish. Sanche moved to the top of the goalscoring charts too, with 17 in 23 games this season.

Liverpool beat Man City 2-1 to boost their own hopes of the title, with City relinquishing top spot to Man Utd, who ended Stoke's recent revival with a 2-0 win at Old Trafford.

Spurs slipped out of the top four after conceding in stoppage time in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Everton - Chelsea pouncing with their own stoppage time goal from Hazard to beat Leicester, with the assist going to Cahill with one of the passes of the season.

West Brom's hopes of a top four finish are fading after a dull 0-0 draw with Brighton, who earned an important point at the bottom despite staying in the relegation zone.

Watford look like they will be relegated after another poor showing saw them beaten at home by Southampton. Huddersfield battled back to draw their second successive home game 2-2, this time they were on the right end of the comeback against West Ham.

Swansea earned a point at Newcastle in a game they should have won, missing chances and conceding to Newcastle's only shot of the game. Crystal Palace are three ahead of the dreaded drop zone after picking up a draw against Burnley.

BURNLEY HAVE WOODWORK TO THANK AFTER MAN UTD VICTORY

Burnley scored with their only shot to beat Man Utd, who were denied at least a point by the woodwork and numerous goal line blocks and clearances at Turf Moor.

Utd were guilty of not finishing their chances, Herrard, Lukaku and Rashford with the best ones. Tat result meant City went three points clear at the top after beating Newcastle through a brace from Aguero.

Liverpool edged Swansea 1-0 to stay third, Chelsea and Arsenal both won but a defeat for Spurs leaves their title chances in tatters and a race for the top four spot looking unlikely.

Stoke beat Huddersfield 3-2 in a thriller at the bottom, which has left Crystal Palace looking nervously over their shoulder after Leicester also climbed above them after thrashing Watford.
