Gullseye solo League Cup Final

Post by Gullseye » 25 Feb 2018, 16:22

This years final was contested by Luton Town and Swansea City both from the First Division. Both clubs have never won the trophy and Swansea’s first appearance in a final.

Stein put Luton into a 1-0 halftime lead. Irwin equalised midway through the second half in a close encounter. With the game looking like extra time Stein hit the winner low into the corner in the last few seconds.

Brian Horton lifted the trophy for the first time.

Love the players with the Afro. How did you manage that?

I know they were both in Division One around that time, but it's good to see some less familiar names appearing in finals and winning trophies.

I have four divisions of 12 and operate two up and two down. It just happened that both these teams are now in the First Division. The two Manchester’s, Liverpool and Arsenal are all in lower divisions.
