Postby geow6 » 21 Jul 2018, 16:37

Embarking on the biggest prize in European solo football next, the Champions League. Stadium being revamped, first group games to get under way in October once the nights are darker and floodlights can have their full effect.

Group stage draw has been done, and here is how it'll shape up:

Group A: Real Madrid, Man Utd, Monaco, Inter Milan
Group B: Atletico Madrid, Zenit, Liverpool, Borussia Monchengladbach
Group C: Barcelona, Tottenham, Dynamo Kiev, Sparta Prague
Group D: Bayern Munich, FC Porto, Villarreal, AEK Athens
Group E: PSG, Napoli, Ajax, Valencia
Group F: Man City, Shakhtar, Leverkusen, Galatasaray
Group G: Dortmund, Benfica, Roma, Marseille
Group H: Juventus, Chelsea, PSV Eindhoven, Celtic

Updates as each gameweek progresses. Group A and E look particularly tough to call at this early stage!

REAL BEAT MADRID RIVALS ATLETICO IN SUPER CUP

Real Madrid produced a controlled performance as they brushed aside Madrid rivals Atletico in the Super Cup in Tallinn.

Bale was the star with two goals, his first a crashing drive to beat Oblak before a deflected strike just before half time regain Real's lead. Atletico had equalised straight after the first Bale goal when Griezmann finished off a slick passing move, but that's as good as it got for the team in red and white stripes.

Kroos went close in the second half before tucking away a near identical chance with just seconds to play as Real ran out 3-1 winners in the end.
