Good to see the Mikes are known on here. I've just finished painting a team in their current home kit;

Re: Welcome to the Forum
Hi everybody
I'm new in this forum and I thought I'd drop by in this thread and say hello.
I'm French and I used to play Subbuteo when I was a kid in the late 70's-early 80's but I lost everything I had back then, except for the Paris FC team (HW 306) that I mistook for Holland during my entire childhood ! It's still here but in bad condition.
10 years back I got hooked again and bought a few teams (mostly national teams, I've always loved national teams even in real football, and modern brands like Zeugo, Soccer 3D and the new Subbuteo figures) and some accessories (pitches, goals, etc...)
Now my 7 year old son is a fan too. So we buy for playing, not collecting, but I'm still fascinated by the Subbuteo catalogue, old and new.
I might post every now and then in the forum so pardon my French-English.

Re: Welcome to the Forum
Hello an good morning everybody, my name is Aurelio and I'm "new", on the forum I mean, but quite "OLD" in the subbuteo world and in my age.
actually I was, how I can say, "subbuteo retired" since a lot of years but, thanks to my nepew, I'm back .
I live in Italy, I'm italian and I began to study enlish language when I was a child, at that time (one of my preferred exercises) I read all the SUBBUTEO catalogues and the words on the subbuteo's accessories boxes, how it was funny for me and how many times I planned in my dreams to go to Tumbridge Wells,, to meet "Mr. Subbuteo"
I see now, after a glance on the web a lot of people interested,, does no matter the age, who loves still this wonderful game, despite of all, but the best is that also many child want to play it, I'm happy that also in my family somebody wants to play despite the playstation and the wii, altough the fight is very hard, !!

Hello and welcome

It all seems very easy, this revolution game
But when you start to really play things won't be quite the same
Your intellectual theories on how it's going to be
Don't seem to take into account the true reality

Re: Welcome to the Forum
Hello I'm Jenksy from Southampton. I used to play SUBBUTEO with my mates as a lad. My old 1970 stuff just disappeared when I left home. My nipper had a few years playing against me in the 90's. But then he discovered computer games and sold his stuff. Last September I was looking through an Argos catalogue and saw good old SUBBUTEO again and felt the need to play again. So I ordered a set and 3 more teams from Amazon, got a board and started playing again. I now have 9 teams (4 zeugo teams, I like them!). I have a digital kitchen timer and play a league of 6 teams against myself! Mrs Jenksy finds it "sweet". My lad plays now and again and I'm having fun. Oh yes I'm 54 next month by the way. My daughter says " dad you will always be 12". She's probably not wrong. Even Mrs Jenksy has had a go! "That was actually quite good fun!" She said. Built a couple of small stands and a couple of small terraces. As you can probably tell I don't take myself or life very seriously. My wife is my best mate and does find me quite amusing, her words not mine!

Hi Everybody,
I think I joined this forum a while back but then lost my password, forum name and team box. Have just re-joined. Name is Terry Edge; got my first Subbuteo set in 1960; played up until the mid-80s; from 1995 played in the odd Cornwall Open; last year, joined the sliding game with the London League. I really, really like the FISTF rules, mainly because they favour the attacking player.
I also write science fiction and fantasy, and teach creative writing at Denman College. More info at: www.td-edge.com - details there, too, about a book I'm going to bring out soon, about my Subbuteo journey, focusing mostly on the 1970s, called 'Subbuteo in My Soul'.

Hallo
After reading for a couple of month, it is time to join the forum. I knew subbuteo when a was a kid and my dad had a dutch subbuteo set We played a lot with it and later on with the 00 gauge players. Last year in Spain, I discovered again subbuteo in the supermarket where I bought a FCB set.
It hit me again and with my children we started playing again.
I constructed a very nice playing pitch using the compact zeugo pitch. Our favorit game is 7 a Side football.
I live in the netherlands and my local favorit team is Cambuur,.
Greetings Bert
