Re: League Results, so far
Looking forward to your latest results.
Although I live in the North East, I'm not originally from this area. As far as football is concerned, all the players in my league are former players of the two clubs I've followed for over fifty years, so I have supported many of them from the terraces.
If you want another clue, in 1984 they were one match away from meeting in the Cup Final. One made it to Wembley, the other one, in the other semi final, didn't quite get there.

Re: League Results, so far
I was born in Blackpool, but wasn't brought up there.
I'm a little surprised you don't recognise some of the more recent names like Tim Howard, Tony Hibbert and Steven Pienaar, or some of the legends like Howard Kendall, Graeme Sharp, Peter Reid and Neville Southall.
The other club? Think legends like Peter Shilton and Paul Mariner, possibly a bit too far back, or modern players like Ashley Barnes and Yannick Bolasie, or, presently playing in Scotland, Anthony O'Connor, Chris Clark and Jim Paterson, the last two at a lower level these days.
We also have, although you've not 'met' them yet, Keith Lasley, Marouanne Fellaini, and Leon Osman. Also, Nathan Thomas, who has played in a couple of our featured matches, was also at Motherwell last year.
If you still want to find out yourself, google "F A Cup 1984". If you still can't get it, let me know.

Recognise all of the top names in your first paragraph and the 2nd paragraph recognise their names too. Lasley played for Motherwell.

St Mirren 1-2 Aberdeen . The game started with miss placed passes from both sides. The game was end to end , coupled with a stunning instinctive save from the Buddies goal keeper. The save had no intervention from me. The Dons scored towards the end of the 1st half. A half time team talk rocketed Aberdeen into a 2 goal lead. St Mirren refused to admit defeat and came storming back to bring the score to 2-1 . A nervy, dramatic finish looked likely. Chances at both ends. St Mirren will feel aggrieved that they didn't snatch a draw.
early on in the St Mirren vs Aberdeen match.

Dunfermline 2-2 Newcastle Utd. A pure sporting spectacle for all of those who were privileged to witness the match. Dunfermline raced into a stunning early lead a delicate pass from the Dunfermline midfield touched inside the Magpies back line and a chipped shot rocketed high into Givens net. Newcastle equalised before half time. And then early in the second half The Toon took the lead . Shearer as ever on hand to smash home. Given then pulled up at a goal kick. Replaced by the eccentric Pavel Scrnicek (RIP) . The game wore on chances at both ends. Dunfermline grabbed a dramtic, and most unlikely equaliser. 2-2 Scrnicek and defenders tried in vain to stop the ball entering the net. Pandemonium in the home end. With the Pars players celebrations perhaps a bit over exuberant!! Passions boiled over again in stoppage time. Both teams could face further investigations into players conduct.
the all important equaliser . Keeper and defenders valiantly try to keep the ball out Scrnicek tangled in the net. Defenders spread on mass in the box. Crest fallen. Like 96 at Anfield all over again !!

Passions boil over is the middle photo . Photos 1 and 3 are the Dunfermline equalising goal. Apologies the footnotes seem a bit out of sink.

Great stuff Sammy.
But you definitely need to get that pitch onto a board.
