I think they're getting to the end of the life of the mould, hence the look of the figures now compared to when they were first produced. I quite like the original PL Subbuteo bases more than the newer ones, and I think the smaller pitch works really well

Yes possibly Vik .. it's a shame really because the packaging on some of the new stuff looks great to be fair ? I saw a few bits and pieces in Manchester last weekend the team boxes are very good.

You are so right, mate

I have been buying the sets mainly for the packaging. I intend creating card trays for them and putting in other teams (LW, 2K4, Santiagos and/or Top Spin). Still to get the Champions League set. May buy two of those because I have these nefarious plans and agendas

Check out this one, Ralph. The box is a strong card, and has that vintage look about it. Got three of them and will be getting some Subbuteo green card or maybe something close to that beige or off-white for the insert.
