FISTF Rules?
Yes. However, it's not tied to FISTF registrations, ie if you're a solo person wanting to play, turn up anyway - you cpuld sign on the day for Cardiff/London Rd/... and it not affect anything else.

Out of interest, are there any OldSubbuteo team tournaments (ie 4 people from one club playing 4 people from another)? I'm not sure, but i don't think there's enough sufficiently large Welsh OS clubs to justify one on those rules!

There are people playing OS in groups as opposed to a club system as it suits them that way.
A couple of tournaments are proposed for 2018

It's for a new football show, I think it'll be a mid-Feb Saturday, but I'll let you know for sure as soon as I know :)

How are they played, everyone plays each other once in the opposite team? What team sizes?

I'm curious :)

You've misunderstood .. what Paul meant was we don't tend to play as clubs ,more so as groups of friends, and therefore do not really play interclub fixtures . Team events are not within the ethos of OS , and neither is Sports Table Football although I notice you've chosen to use the S word above

As far as I'm concerned, what I play is Subbuteo. We (the Lichfield club) ran as a Subbuteo equipment only club up until 1997, and only switched then because getting new Subbuteo equipment was becoming too difficult for too many players in the Midlands. Basically, it was always a pragmatic approach :)

It's a shame to see the divide between OS and FISTF rules. I'm not sure it's that important a distinction (I know people on both sides will disagree there).

It isn't a question of a divide .. OS has an ethos that does not encompass team events .. people play both or either and that is up to them but FISTF stands for Sports Table Football, for a reason does it not ? .. it is an important distinction because in OS we use different rules and equipment making for a different game .. no right or wrong just a fact.

people who are not used to OS just don't get it .. like the chaps who turned up at an OS event last year (nice lads to be fair) in team shirts and tried to turn it into a County Championship or an inter-club event ..it was an OS day replicating a football tournament as so many of us did when we were kids ... competitive team play does not come into it.

no controversy Algy this is just how it is

Nice little piece, Algy. Is Hywel Lovgreen in your league then ?

Your dad and Monkey seemed to feature heavily.

Only one E in Heddiw, though.
