Re: Doubts with two rugby team

They are not Top Spin and/or painted by me, they look like santiago bases.
I would guess someone purchased the teams and painted them into the kits they wanted

Re: C106 Spare Goalkeepers

The Portugese made some of their own stuff, like the metalic coloured bases(green, gold and silver), along with other teams and bits and bobs, all with the ok from Waddingtons.

Re: C106 Spare Goalkeepers

In the mid 1970's, Waddingtons got a lot of plastic stuff made in Portugal,(including Subbuteo products) this was down to the numerous strikes by miners and the likes in the UK. It was only for a year or so.

Re: EURO 2020 SET ???

True Ian, the Top Spin sets including the Rugby one are superb, the problem is the cost of making them, hence the high price

Re: EURO 2020 SET ???

It could depend on the cost of using the rights, the event itself is a wash out, more travelling than ever, some Countries have to travel to the edge of Asia.

Back to the set, with the ones they have recently produced, it wont be worth it, no inner trays and the contents in 2 or 3 zip bags

Re: rare indoor on SW

The Subbuteo MISL teams were done on a basic kit template, using various colours, not many Subbuteo teams were ever actual replicas of actual kits

Re: rare indoor on SW

I spoke to the person who both designed and made the MISL teams last night. The red and white kit was also done in the following colours, black, orange, blue, yellow, light blue, navy blue, green and maroon, basically it was a template kit for the MISL range. The black shirt, red socks was also used...

Re: rare indoor on SW

There was a load of MISL teams produced by SSG, that never appeared in catalogues etc. There was a prototype set made, but in the end it was considered too hard a market to crack, so the project was dropped. The already printed teams were then, for want of a better word canniballised into other team...

Re: Early 70's World Cup Box Set

As far as the teams are concerned the dividing line is the actual 74 WC.
