Re: Questions for Mark Adolph (Krama)
Hi hargy, yes pretty much all local to TW, maybe at a guess, a 15/20 mile radius. That was both painting and sticking which were separate operations. T o my knowledge no one did both, but i stand to be corrected on that! PA was the concept for the Cricket, but I believe that Sammy , Geoffrey Samson...

Re: Questions for Mark Adolph (Krama)
Mark, I thought of a couple more, if I may.
Were the outworkers all local to Tonbridge Wells? There must have been hundreds!
Who came up with the concept for cricket and rugby, their rules and the notion of using a scrum machine? Was there a product development team?

Re: How do you see yourself with the Subbuteo hobby?
You represent a distinct 3rd group which, judging by the levels of participation on Facebook, is actually quite large. I'm also part of this group. When I discovered ebay years back I was interested in adding teams (HW) that I didn't have. I wasn't playing at the time so I was sort of collecting but...

Re: 2021/22 Global "Home" Internationals
EPILOGUE Playing this tournament has been a nice way to spend some time over the last 4 weeks or so. It began as simply a British Home Internationals event, a chance to use the 4 international sides that I repainted to the new strips worn back in '74. But then I got to thinking which other unique i...

The Final: Uruguay v. Chile. 271146181_6915668465142428_5102241192425562296_n.jpg Chile had beaten Uruguay 3-2 in the group stages in a cracking game that had everything and expectations were high that the Final might be a similarly open affair. Several chances in the first few minutes suggested it...

Re: Subbuteo and the big ball.
I've used the 18mm balls since I first got Football Express 40-odd years ago. It was the scale; the big balls just looked odd. I find the FE balls play well and support fast and controlled play with HW players I recently bought some 18mm Zuego balls. Am still getting used to them as they are slightl...

2nd Semi-Final: Chile v. Zaire. 20211231_123715.jpg This was a tight game. Attacking play from both sides with sound defence keeping the chances to a minimum. The deadlock was broken after 8 minutes. A corner for Chile opportunistically flicked in at the near post to open the scoring. Chile score a ...

Re: 2021/22 Global "Home" Internationals
And we're back. Semi-Final Day with Wales taking on Uruguay in the 1st match of the day. 20211231_104949.jpg Wales take a conservative approach from the start, allowing Uruguay possession. It seems to pay off as the South Americans can't convert their pressure into goals. Then a break by Wales but t...

Re: 2021/22 Global "Home" Internationals
The shock's on as Zaire take a 2-0 lead 2 minutes into the second half. And as with their group play, they are looking a solid unit. 20211223_171018.jpg 20211223_171053.jpg The Germans try to get some pressure on but the Zaire back line stays solid. With 7 minutes to go, however, the Germans get bac...
