One or two of the shorter Subbuteo figures in there. These figures turn up fairly regularly in the 102.

Cannot recall ever seeing a genuine reference sticker on any of these rare teams from this part of the UK. Anybody could replicate the 216, themselves, on these bases for about 25 quid with a reference 6 and a couple of tins of Humbrol paint. Or maybe commission Calum to do a lovely 216 on Santiago's.

By "written", I mean "in the distant past, it's been rubbed out and then it's left an imprint".

As to what reference this team started life as back in the 1970's. Most of us on here are old(-ish) gits. Some stuck with Subbuteo through the years, some (me included) like you have, got back into it after a hiatus of a few years. If you need to ask anything then get a thread started; somebody will usually know the answer.

The only thing about paying such big money for a late 70's sealed team is that once the seal is removed then the value of the team drops considerably. A mint, but opened, reference 11 in a late 70's splash box; 30 quid ??

And the reference 15 (mint team, nice box but unreffed) went for just over 50 quid. That's good going for a 15.

I think some stuff has done well lately. A few new collectors entered the market, maybe ?? This seller had a fair few nice looking teams finish in the last couple of hours. The 181 (looked mint) went for 215 quid.

Never heard of it, Chris. Is it genuine ?? Dunno. Personally, I can't see why anybody would buy this. Btw, the seller also has a Subbuteo advert for sale as well.

It looks to be a fairly decent product; with some room for improvement. But, if it helps to attract new players then that can't be a bad thing. It might not though, 'cos there's obviously a lot of competition around. Ebay for the old stuff, a few websites for the modern replicas, etc. The box, whils...
