Re: What’s the perfect league size for solo players?

Yes of course I can do what I want with my league but it’s interesting to see what others are doing. I feel happy with my league sizes but I cannot get my head around lower league teams winning cups. I know it happens in real life but it kinda feels odd to have Division 2 teams being as strong as Di...

What’s the perfect league size for solo players?

So as the title says, what would be your perfect league size when doing a solo league? There is a fine balance between having a fun league with enough teams to make it interesting but not too many teams that you get bored and never finish it. I am also against using dice or another mechanism to ‘sim...

Re: Solo League dusty old tables

Sounds fantastic. I used to keep my records in a text book, but league tables became a pain to update as I would have to rub it out and write it out again. I now keep my results on a website so it’s easier to maintain, I can go back and look at historic results easily, plus I can now access it anywh...

Re: White Hart Lane

So after much searching for modern style goals, I managed to snag a unique, custom made set on an auction site, which are perfect for what I wanted. Even though the new goals look bigger, it is mainly due to the size of the goal post, the goal mouth is the same size as a standard Subbuteo goal and t...

Re: Solo League dusty old tables

Thanks for sharing the info about your leagues and teams, I love to read the stories about other players and how their leagues developed. It’s nice to see that your league came about and grew over many years.
Do you have a list of your league champions over the seasons?

Re: Solo League dusty old tables

i would love to know where these team names come from? It appears they are an amalgamation of real team name,s but would be interesting to know the history behind them and why you chose to go with fictional rather than real teams? I think it would mess with my mind as I would be constantly trying to...

Re: White Hart Lane

With the summer months approaching there has not been a huge amount of progress at WHL. There is only a small update where we have recently installed our goal line technology and added some different advertising hoardings at each end. We have also added some nice photos of the real WHL so we have so...

Re: New auction website for Subbuteo

And if you list something worth a lot, you will still only pay £1 commission on offtrackbids.co.uk, rather than 10% commission. I hope this will attract a some more exclusive items onto the site, which will in turn, attract more buyers to come looking for those hard to find but highly collectable it...

Re: New auction website for Subbuteo

Thanks for the comments.

I think you are right Dave, but more people are getting frustrated with their sellers policies and managed payments, so perhaps there is a space for a small niche Subbuteo auction website to exist for dedicated hobbyists

Re: Youbbuteo - Each and Every Week on Youtube

Enjoyed your latest video with the Mini Subbuteo Builds items. I have not seen this website before so will be checking them out. I am enjoying watching your Subbuteo stadium build in the loft, even more so with some of the 'outtakes' included with the warped athletics track and the stadium sections ...

New auction website for Subbuteo

Hi all, After using an auction website for many years, I realised how much commission I was paying on items, especially some exclusive collectables that go for a higher price. To help out collectors and fans of the hobby, I have created a new auction site called https://www.offtrackbids.co.uk My web...

Re: Modern style goals

Thanks for the heads up but sadly not.

The custom goals are the closest to what I’m trying to get, shame someone doesn’t go into full production of these :P

Re: Last Will and Testament (have you included your collection)

Very good post and an extremely valid point. I used to have a model railway too and it is incredible the value of the items can be, especially if looked after and kept in original boxes. I had considered adding it to my will for the very reason that I wanted my family to understand its worth and not...

Re: Modern style goals

Thanks all, that is about as close as I have seen to the current real goals, except for the Pegasus ones which are impossible to find. I wonder why they all have rounded top corners, perhaps its cheaper or easier to make them like that, but they just dont have the right modern look about them when t...

Anyone planning an ESL in their solo league?

So after the recent news , is anyone planning to replicate the European Super League? I do have a small European Cup as part of mine but games against European teams just don’t have the same level of excitement as when playing matches against other English teams. Just so you know where I stan...
