Re: What will subbuteo be worth in the future?
A friend of mine sells model trains. He's been selling a long time now and the period he used to get very strong sales for has really slumped. Why? Well, quite literally the clientele is dying off. Prices haven't tailed off significantly, because the collectors that are left are still prepared to pa...

Re: Toy Fair Find! Genuine teams?
Great find Jeff. Definitely worth looking under the bonnet of those old sets. I picked up a set at a toy fair a couple of years back with 2 teams of spare goalies! The red shirt and green shirt ones. Then more recently I got a mint ref 64 in one.

Re: Maidenhead Collectors Fair Sunday 22nd March
I'll be there again. Really looking forward to it, I've been the last two years and it's an excellent fair. Jon does a brilliant job organising the whole weekend and there's always a bunch of great collecting and playing personalities there as well as lots of really exciting stuff up for sale.

Re: The Maidenhead Old Subbuteo Festival 21st/22nd March 201
I'm coming down to Maidenhead again this year. I'll be getting there late Saturday afternoon and staying over at the Travelodge round the corner from the venue. There's a spare place in the room I'm staying in, so if anybody's stuck for somewhere to stay on Saturday night send me a PM. Room was chea...

I reckon I'll be there again. Last one was really good, and it's always great to meet people there.

Re: Merry Christmas
The book has been claimed. Merry Christmas to you all, and may your collections blossom in the New Year.
Skell you know me too well, but I just had to do something to stop those ghosts of Christmas haunting me. I couldn't be doing with them snapping at my heels another year!

Merry Christmas
Hi all, Well, 'tis the season of goodwill and so in the spirit of Christmas I've got something I'd like to give away to a new member of the forum. I've noticed a few people have joined recently and I'm sure amongst them there are some who haven't got Mark Adolph's excellent book 'Growing up with Sub...

Re: The Maidenhead Old Subbuteo Festival 21st/22nd March 201
Similar to skell - great event, travel miles to get there and don't play, but you can't beat it. Very large selection of stuff for sale, great to meet other collectors and players and always a hearty welcome from jon. Can't recommend it more highly, it's a really good weekend to indulge in your favo...

Re: Some new teams
I've got into rare bases for the same reason - I can pick up some great versions of teams without necessarily spending too much. I also like some of the particularly inappropriate combos that come up. My #8 on sky blue inners, maroon outers is my favourite!

Re: Solo league in full swing again
Clarktown Athletic, good choice Andy. They're a Scottish team who've been in Division 1 for most of their time in the league (the league includes Scottish, English and Welsh teams). Down in the 4th Division ex-Clarktown striker Fernando Kerkhof is now managing Hemling Forest. Couldn't be a more diff...

Re: Solo league in full swing again
This is the second season since I introduced a Conference Premier division with relegation to and promotion from hypothetical divisions below. It means my league is no longer a closed shop - there is the very real consequence of relegation for teams that finish in the last 2 places in Division 4, an...
