Re: Is The Scene Dead?
Agree with all comments made. I am not a Facebook user and have no intention of using it. I do enjoy some of the YouTube content produced, especially the excellent Table Football Monthly. I hope the Facebook site is not taking up too much of the presenters time as the gap between episodes does appe...

Re: 1949 box set
If you look at early adverts in the 40,50,60s for Subbuteo they often added a dept number to the address. There seem to be many depts. I'm guessing in the true nature of early SSG it was more for effect, than numerous departments. The cut out paperwork on the bottom of the box looks like something a...

Just where the SSG painter didn't stir the paint properly before applying. It occurs often. Enjoy the bug again

Re: Old Toy & Subbuteo Shops
When I get teams with named price labels on, I always google the name to see where the team originally came from.
Surprising how many forums are out there that talk about old shops in various Towns. And old pictures to view of the old shops.

Re: Adding to my collection
Some absolute gems in that lot. Fantastic finds Jeff. I think you may get inundated with very good offers for many of them. Some very rare teams in that lot. Just goes to show what's still out there. Interestingly...it seems all of the German teams were released with typed named labels. Seen so many...

Re: different coloured boots
Also remember that the players were painted in bulk and collected from the outworkers. The teams were made up and boxed in a separate operation. Exactly this... SSG was a business...and teams were often thrown together. There are general rules, but you often get mixed boot and hair colours, differe...

Re: Winged shorts figure in hw base
Correct Jon...
It's odd when you think that SSG would have paid to have the winged shorted figure produced on a bar. Not cheap. Moulded and on bar...probably the one figure we see least of.
Here you go mate...in all it's glory.

Great team Jon...lovely find.
I've found winged short players on bar in Football Express teams before as well.

Re: OSC OS (Old Subbuteo Club Old Sods)
And long may it continue Adam...it's the magic formula imo, and why the 'Club', and interest from others to join us has been so successful. We are a right mixed bunch of personalities...and on paper it shouldn't work...but I've never known such a diverse group get on so well. It's playing for fun ra...
