So it’s been a busy week at White Hart Lane. With the idea of spectators being able to return to stadiums soon, the staff have been working hard to see how other events may work at the ground to boost income.

The pitch was mowed and the grounds man has been laying down white lines to see how rugby would work. He has reported back that the pitch now looks great and fits in well with the fencing.

Not only did they test rugby, but with the county T20 games coming up, they have somehow managed to fit a cricket pitch in too (ok, suspend reality and scale for a minute and just go with it!). The stadium will be the perfect place to host some T20 cricket games, with the spectators getting a great view of the action. The Middlesex team popped in to try out the pitch and they were overjoyed. All social distancing protocols were adhered to as well.

It’s looking to be a great year of sport at White Hart Lane.

With the summer months approaching there has not been a huge amount of progress at WHL. There is only a small update where we have recently installed our goal line technology and added some different advertising hoardings at each end.

We have also added some nice photos of the real WHL so we have something to aim for with our replica build...

So after much searching for modern style goals, I managed to snag a unique, custom made set on an auction site, which are perfect for what I wanted.

Even though the new goals look bigger, it is mainly due to the size of the goal post, the goal mouth is the same size as a standard Subbuteo goal and they look excellent in place.

Actually, there was one small change that I could make, it would be to replace the green string between the rear upright and the net with black, but as it’s partially glued and I don’t want to damage the goals, I’m happy to leave it as it is!

I cannot wait to put some stadium stands behind them to really get the full picture

Does that pitch come ready striped or do you do it with a brush, like the baize? It looks great!

It is a Pegasus pitch from Subbuteo world that comes with stripes. It’s a beautiful soft pitch but have to treat it with care as it can be easily marked.
