Cutting an Astropitch in half

Post by jozza800 »

Hi guys,

I'm planning on building a table for my attic. However, unfortunately it cant be permenant. So I am planning to build a table that folds (essentially like a pasting table) from two sheets of MDF and legs that unscrew.

I want to stick the astropitch to the two sheets and cut the pitch down the seam of the table so that I can fold it.

Any issues in cuttign the pitch?

I bought what was called a 'portable banqueting table'

It's 6ft long by 3ft wide with a very sturdy hard plastic table top and metal legs.

The whole thing folds up like a suitcase so that it's 3ft x 3ft and about 4 inches thick, and even has a carry handle.

Then I just pinned my pitch to a piece of mdf the same size as the pitch (about 4ft x 3ft), with drawing pins.

Tbh, if you have room to play, you should easily have room to store both items when you're not using them.

It would grieve me to cut up an Astropitch (or any original pitch). They don't come cheap and also, even if you are a DIY Master  , surely you'll struggle to get the two halves to join in a way that will allow the ball to run smoothly across the half way line?

That would do my noddle in!
