Ronnie James Dio passed away 16th May 2010 aged 67 - one of THE greatest voices in rock music imo!
Currently listening to the Dio album Holy Diver - forgot how good that album was!

It's often the case when you dig those old albums out, you do forget how good some were. I was more surprised by how old he was. He made some great records. I reckon the guy was THE best rock singer of all time bar none.
Rainbow Rising just missed being in my top 10 in the essential albums thread (any other day it would have made it - along with Long Live Rock 'n' Roll)
